Henry is a spina bifida warrior. He has recently started doing NISE stim to the nerves going to his legs to increase leg movement, help with bowel and bladder functioning and sensation of his lower body. Henry is a delight to work with and doing therapy is a joy when Henry is around.

Madelyn was born with a rare genetic disorder. She is a bright and charming little angel. She enjoys life with her family and has the best disposition. Magic Moments Foundation (MMF) is helping Madelyn with NISE ( non invasive spinal electrical stimulation) to help her scoliosis primarily but we are also hoping to increase her leg sensation and strength.

Averit is a most precious twin. She and her sister have been fighting all the odds. Her sister was not breathing for 15 minutes but is recovering at a little faster rate than Averi. Averi has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy mainly due to a deficit in her left arm from one of the brain bleeds. Her Doctors say she should be quadriplegic, affecting all four limbs. The traumatic premature birth has surely not resulted in quadriplegia. She is doing all the therapy with all of her family. (mom and dad, grandparents etc)

Averi is receiving TASES electrical stimulation, CIMT program for babies, lots of sensory input for development of all the reflexes and righting reactions. We are stimulating her with aquatics, alignment of joints, off and on bracing, estim, CIMT etc. She is making a miraculous recovery of her left side in particular. It is exciting to be with Averi and witness the daily input of these advanced treatments. We are utilizng the H.I.N.E. ( Hammersmith Infant Neurological Evaluation) to measure her progress

Adam’s amazing technology started before he was born. He was one of the first children to receive in utero repair of his spina bifida lesion. His mother flew from Lafayette, LA to Children’s hospital of Philadelphia to have his Spina bifida lesion tucked back into his body and repaired while still in the womb. Doing this, helps the nerves to recover an grow. It also helps with prevention of a shunt. Which it did! Adam works hard every day to walk with braces. MMF is hoping to help Adam start with electrical stimulation to strengthen his legs even more!

Amelie is another Spina Bifida Warrior who has underwent a lot of the latest advancements in the past decade. Starting with in utero surgery to repair her Spina Bifida lesion while still in the womb. Her level of Spina Bifida should not allow her to have any movement in her legs. She does have movement today and even walks short distances with a walker at home and school now. She has also received “club foot” surgery to correct deformities in her leg by the renown Dr. Dobbs from the Paleo Institute. She has also been partaking in NISE therapy to stimulate her nerves to her legs and help with not only movement but sensation regeneration. She also does weekly aquatic therapy. As you can read, all of these advancements are not easy to keep up with and can use the support of donors that support Magic Moments Therapy.

Trevor is an awesome well loved 16 year old boy. Everywhere Trevor is, there is true friendship. Trevor has muscular dystrophy but takes the latest gene therapy medicine. Trevor lives his life to the fullest. He is ready to take on the task of driving through blue tooth programming from his power chair joy stick and adapted vehicle. The expense of highly trained professionals and adapting and programming his car is really more than any of us could guess. However, this freedom will allow Trevor independence for getting college classes, getting to a job and taking a girl on a date. This fundraising is technology at its highest level.
